How the Healing Heard Came About

The Healing Herd is a 501C3 non profit that uses miniature animals to bring love and healing to those in need. Years ago, a dear friend who was living in an assisted-living facility mentioned she was sad that she could no longer get outside to see nature and missed being near animals. I began to research how therapeutic animals can be and how much joy they bring into a person's life. Thus, the idea for the Healing Heard was born! 

Many people purchase miniature farm animals and end up realizing how much work they truly are. These 'pets' often end up neglected or even abandoned. The Healing Herd works to rescue miniatures and in turn, they become therapy animals who help both the sick and elderly. It's a win, win! EIN 87-4426381
